I plummet deep into the bottomless crevice of the mind seeking answers
Is death the purpose of birth and everything in between its making?
Is judgment the purpose of life_ to live is to be cast into sin?
Is solitude the purpose of companionship_ a bittersweet memory for the abandoned?
Is it a path one takes consciously_ is conscience but the fear of judgment?
Is waking a slow suicide in which we amerce ourselves every dawn
We live in darkness
The sun does not rise
We only turn to it for guidance
And turn away so not to see the horrors we breed
This fear of our monsters called dusk
When we slumber and forget and again seek a dawn
A curiosity, a yearning to see once more
And bask in sights false security
Damned are those that seek righteousness
For only evil and sin reside in this world
They speak of each other with pride
Call to each other for companionship
And destroy all good will with solitude
Dumping it into the ashes of benevolent hearts
Where embers of humanity smolder on
And yet once again weve devised it
An agony graver than demise
In it we float endlessly
Eternally
Seeking our phantoms
Seeking to become them
Gradually sinking in mind and soul
And the body wanders on, soon it too will fall
Passion and lust intertwined in vines of deceit
Crawling gently up these walls of loveless companionship
Frayed ends of reverie sway as the mind decays
Trapped in this forlorn trance, half alive
Two barren souls share the night
Watching their lights linger, half dead
Humanity sits in congregation tonight
Amidst their fallen and their wounded
Seeking answers to eternal queries
Seeking ends to mortal carnage
Praying to conjured divinities
That these troubled hearts
Shall one day know peace
Writ is the epilogue, elegy whispered to the wind
The last chapter written by the right hand of time
Immortality curved into the memory of thy beloved
Ode to last breath of life, floating into the dusk
Blinding mist clears to a new beginning
Does cruel mortality know no bounds?
And yet, in truth I still do wonder
From whence doth this inner peace come
And why does joy refuse to fade

And what lies before us
